Windows will warn you the first time
The installer is not code-signed yet, so:
- Windows shows a blue “Windows protected your PC” panel.
- Choose More info.
- Then Run anyway.
That panel means the file has no certificate, not that anything is wrong with it. A signing certificate is an annual cost GateKeeper has not earned yet, and saying so seems better than leaving you to guess at a security warning.
Were you sent a licence?
You do not need an account. Install GateKeeper, and on the first screen choose “Sent a licence? Redeem it here”. Paste it in and you are done.
It is checked on your own machine — no sign-in, no internet, and nothing to create. If it does not take, tell us what it said; that is a bug at our end.
On a Mac, iPad or tablet?
GateKeeper installs as an app straight from the browser — no App Store, no download. Open app.gatekeeperlc.com. On a Mac, use the install icon in Chrome’s address bar; on an iPad or phone, tap Share, then “Add to Home Screen.” It gets its own window and its own icon.
Once it has loaded once, it runs with no internet at all — which is the point. On a Mac, use Chrome rather than Safari: Safari clears a site’s saved data after a week of not opening it, and your event lives in that storage.

The Windows installer updates itself when a new version is released. The portable build doesn’t — it tells you when it’s out of date, and you download the new one from this page and replace the file on your stick.
